A Homeschooled Girl

     Hi! My name is Alex. I am a girl in 9th grade and I am homeschooled. I love animals, especially rabbits! This page is all about me being homeschooled! Have fun reading!

   I LOVE being homeschooled. I get to learn at my own pace and if I like a certain topic, I can learn even more about it! My favorite subject is science, especially animal science. I don't really like math all that much, but I want to learn it well so I can be a vet. Homeschooling is SOOOOO fun!

    My brothers and I sometimes get to go places like museums and zoos without having an over load of other kids, because we can go during the day when other kids are in school and then do our school after. I also can volunteer with an organization called For Pets a lot since I have a flexible schedule. I designed their website and I keep it updated. Check it out!

    I just joined 4-H this year and it is REALLY fun!!! I played the piano for Performing Arts and for Digital Photography I did 2 projects; one was with digital manipulation on my computer and the other was 2 pictures I took from an airplane. For my Dog project I did a display on dog agility and for Veterinary Science I did a project on Pulsed Signal Therapy, or PST. I also did one in Citizenship on my volunteer work with For Pets. All of them were eligible for the MN State Fair, but since I had to pick one I picked my Citizenship project. I just got back from the fair and I got the highest purple on my project!  

    Also in 4-H I entered my dog, Mya, in the 4-H dog show in Obedience and Showmanship. She got red in Obedience and blue in Showmanship and she is going to compete in the state dog show at the end of September. Next year I hope to enter her in Agility as well!

   When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian. I really love animals, especially rabbits! Our whole family shares 4 cats and one dog, and 3 of my brothers own a frog and 2 fish. Right now we also have tadpoles! Since I want to be a vet, I like learning about pet first aid. I also like learning about all the different species of pets there are.

    I am part of a low/no cost spay and neuter organization in Mankato, MN called For Pets. We go in parades, have garage sales, booths at the fair, and other things to raise money and promote our cause. They have the few animals they take in on Petfinder. There is no age limit on your volunteering, so if you are a kid who wants to help animals, we would love your help!!!
