Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota - Mankato Chapter

How students can get involved!

All over the country students are joining in the battle against substandard housing through Habitat's Campus Chapter Youth Program (CCYP). A campus chapter (both at high schools and colleges) has three primary functions: joining the local affiliate and home owners to help build houses, educating your school and community about affordable housing and Habitat, and raising funds to help build more houses. Many campus chapters also coordinate Collegiate Challenge trips. These trips take students all over the country to help build homes at other Habitat Affiliates during spring break.

Currently there are local campus chapters located at MNSU at Mankato and Gustavus Adolfus College in St. Peter. We have a strong student support from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato that is discussing the process of being a recognized chapter by HFHI. If you are interested in joining, helping or obtaining more information about any of these chapters please call the office at 507-388-2081.

There are many fantastic reasons to participate with Habitat, some of which are described on the get involved page.

You don't have to be a part of any chapter though to volunteer. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out our on-line volunteer form. Or if you are a part of a group that would be interested in spending some time on site, please fill out the group form or call the office 388-2081.
