Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota - Mankato ChapterBuild With Habitat
Volunteers are what make our houses affordable. Volunteers build walls, hang drywall, shingle the roof, put up siding and so much more. There is no experience necessary, since our crew leaders are willing to teach new skills to anyone interested in learning. This is a fantastic way to learn new skills while helping other people and the community. There are volunteers on-site at various times during the week, as well as Saturdays. Volunteering is now as easy as clicking your mouse. You can sign up using our on-line form. Also download and print off the liability, the Adult Waiver or the Youth Waiver. You may also call the office at 507-388-2081.
Volunteering is a great way for clubs, businesses, church groups and organizations to work together, build stronger friendships and meet new community members. In addition to having work days available on Saturdays, we can schedule times for groups to come out when it is convenient for you.
For interested volunteers with previous construction experience, who would like to become further involved, we have opportunities to lead volunteers on sites. Crew Leaders are responsible for overseeing volunteer activities on the work site; to discuss this further, please contact us at the office.
There
is work to be done even if you are unable to pound nails. For example,
volunteer opportunities exist with each of our eight committees: Special opportunities for students also exist. So many in fact, that there is a special page for it. Click on the previous link to go there. There are also opportunities available for people outside of construction or committees. Volunteers are utilized to help plan special events, provide food for workers, draft house plans, perform data entry, join our speakers bureau, or help coordinate and recruit volunteers. We are flexible and would love to talk to you about your interests. Please give us a call at 388-2081.
