Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat homes. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Habitat for Humanity that is used to build more homes.

The Habitat for Humanity International web site contains more information on Habitat's history, mission, additional volunteer opportunities and contact information for other Habitat affiliates around the world.

Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota has completed 67 homes since its inception in 1989.  Currenlty we are building 5 homes in upper North Mankato, one in St. Peter, and one in Lake Crystal.  We anticpate building 7 homes in 2009. For more information, or volunteer please call 507-388-2081,  fill out our volunteer form, or email Alison.
