This was the last incarnation of the Pharaohs as a 3 piece band. Stanley and Riff shared lead vocal duties and developed the Pharaohs' hallmark style of humor, incorporating an element of unpredictability into the rapid fire "bits."

The Debut of Miss Jean

This publicity photo from 1983 was reproduced by the thousands on pink stock given away as dance contest prizes. This was the debut of the Pharaohs as a 5 piece. In the year this lineup held together, the Pharaohs began for the first time to find themselves in demand in their home town area, adding The Square Deal bar in Mankato as a regular venue while remaining true to their long-time fans in the Kasota, St. James, and Ormsby areas. From left are Sticks, Pinky, Flapper, Riff and Stanley.

The Reincarnation of Miss Jean

In June of 1989, Mr. Andrews rather abruptly reformed the Pharaohs, recruiting former members Pinky Jean, Flapper and Diamond Dirty Fingers Jimmy The Axeman Jones Jr. Mr. Jones solicited the aid of his compadre, Spike The Wonder Dog, who did double and often triple duty, often drumming, singing and playing the trumpet simultaneously, employing an obscure Eastern technique. This band became known as The Genuine East Side Pharaohs, while the previous group, sans Riff (including Sparko and Otto Mattick, Mad Jack and Coco) were touted in the media as The Original East Side Pharaohs. They Original eventually changed their name to The Mummys, however their fans in North Dakota insisted the band receive marquee billing as the Faros.

This lineup, from around 1990, featured Riff Andrews on bass, Pinky Jean Fritz on vocals, Stanley (Studs) Kreitzer on guitar and bits, Flapper Tank Ball on keyboards and Hubert (The Tree) Sprinkler on drums.

Shown here in one of the infamous East Side Pharaohs dressing rooms, the band is so relaxed as to be almost unrecognizable.
