MY SCHEDULE
|
Hello!
I have owned and operated a Gammill longarm quilting machine since late 2004. In August of 2007, I updated to a stitch regulated machine
with additional capabilities. Also at this time, due to the number of people (other than relatives) asking me to do their quilts, I hired an accountant to
calculate my taxes and sales tax.
I can do quality quilting on your quilt top in a reasonable turn around time. The quilting
is hand guided so each quilt will be unique. I use quality cotton quilting thread made for longarm quilting. I also keep polyester thread on hand for customers who prefer it.
Quilting is done in a smoke free home. My daughter has a rescued cat in the house but he rarely visits me in the quilting room
(Bookkeeping? Ugh! I'd rather be quilting!)
unless he thinks it is time to eat.
What is a longarm? It's a sewing machine head and table that eats up all the space in your basement or sewing room! Pictures in quilting magazines do not begin to give an idea of how huge these machines and their table frames are. On a longarm, the fabric is stationary, and the operator moves the sewing head across the fabric.
As a quilting customer, what is your time worth to you? Quilting by a longarmer frees the customer to concentrate on piecing more quilt tops, spending time with loved ones, and spending more time at a favorite quilt store buying more fabric! The customer does not have to try to wrestle that huge fabric bulk through a home sewing machine. Pleats and puckers are virtually eliminated, at least as much as is humanly possible, assuming the top and backing are pieced flat to start with.
