Son Mikk attended Nicollet Public School in Nicollet, MN. Starred in varsity wrestling during his high school days. Earned trip to State Wrestling Tournament for his weight class during his Senior year.
Owns a hot 1989 Mustang dragster for quarter mile runs. Has won numerous titles and trophies.
Both Paulette and Mikk also attended "Machine Shed High" in Nicollet, MN. There was a period of several years when the old high school building was condemned and the new high school was being built on the north edge of town. A machine shed-style high school was built in several months by the numerous Nicollet MN construction companies. The conglomerate construction crew was headed by a foreman of one of the area companies. A tremendous work effort by the whole community of Nicollet allowed the high school students of the district to miss very little of their high school education during the several years involved in the construction of the new high school.
These are very brief memories of kids growing up. Sometimes we parents don't remember all of the events in our children's lives that are important to each of them. Sometimes we try to re-live our own lives through our children. There are times when that might be good; other times it is not.
"As I read through some of these Scripture verses (Book of Proverbs), many of them talked about advice to young people including sons and daughters. It made me think about writing to you as though you were my child - as though I was writing to you as your father ... not as one who might lecture you but as one who loves you and wants to tell you things that will help you to enjoy your life more. ... I love you. ... I don't know if you will understand this completely but sometimes we parents might hold too tightly to our children. Perhaps one could say that we 'love you too much.' We want you to know that we will 'stand by you' but we also need to realize that we must 'let you go' to be who you were meant to be. God loves you ... and so do we ! ! !"
