The letter collection, Letters to Sarah - from God, Growing in the Lord, speaks of relationships. Those relationships that are important to me are those with God, with my self, and with the people around me. God calls each one of us - both as an individual and as part of a community. We are to serve one another - to be there for one another as God calls us.
God gives each of us gifts. Those gifts that He gives us are for the benefit of the community. St Paul talks about those gifts in his first letter to the Corinthians, "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to all for their particular service. The Spirit's presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all." - Chapter 12:4-7
"Christ is like a single body, which has many parts; it is still one body, even though it is made up of different parts. ..." - Chapter 12:12
"As it is, however, God put every different part in the body just as he wanted it to be. There would not be a body if it were all only one part! As it is, there are many parts but one body." - Chapter 12:18-20
And so, God asks each of us to be the person that He calls us to be. He says, "Be yourself ... but be yourself for Christ's sake ... not yours."
