BATTERING IS A CRIME!
Battering or abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, and /or financial. It can include slaps, punches, choking, beating with weapon, forced sexual acts, systematic destruction of a person's self worth. Abuse includes harassment and threats.
HOW OFTEN DOES IT HAPPEN?
* Every day 4 women die in this country from assaults and
murders inflicted by husband and boyfriends.
* Women are 10 times more likely than men to be victimized by an intimate partner.
* The number of women who have been murdered by their intimate partner is greater than the number of soldiers killed in the Vietnam War.
