Setting Up WindowsXP Dialup Networking

These instructions take you through the complete process of configuring WindowsXP Dialup Networking.


Click the Start button and All Programs, Accessories, Communications, then click New Connection Wizard.


You will see the following screen.


Click Next.


Select Connect to the Internet.

Click Next.


Select Set up my connection manually.

Click Next.


Select Connect using a dial-up modem.

Click Next.


Enter Hickory Tech for the ISP Name.

Click Next.


Using your dialup sheet, enter the proper access number for your calling area.

Click Next.


Enter your Hickory Tech User Name (logon name) and Password. All usernames and password must be in lower case letters.

Click Next .


You have completed the set up. Click Finish.



How to Check you Hickory Tech Dialup Settings on Windows XP

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Communications, then Click Network Connections.


Under Dial-up, righr click Access Zone and then click Properties.

You will see the following window.
