As a tool to verify our service to you, we have included a few simple steps below for your to test your DSL connection speed:
- Click here to download test file.
- After clicking this link, a pop-up window will appear asking "What would you like to do with this file?"
- Select 'Open It' or 'Open this file from its current location'. Hit OK.
- On the status line you will notice a number in parenthesis. Example: (at 34KB/sec)*
- Verify your DSL speeds are 34KB for DSL Lite, 90KB for DSL Prime, or 175KB for DSL Pro.
- If speeds are significantly lower, please contact HickoryTech Internet online click here or by phone at 866-HICKORY or 507-387-1151.
* Modem and network speeds are measured in kilobits(k), as opposed to computer files whose sizes are measured in kilobytes(KB). When
a file is being downloaded, the speed is reported in kilobytes/second, because this is the unit most people understand.
