Terry Pratchett's Discworld series is about a disc-shaped world that moves
through space on the back of the giant turtle A'Tuin, sex unknown...but you
probably know all this if you have gotten this far...
Pratchett is one of the funniest writers today and with the release
of "The Truth" in November, 2000, finally we got a new Pratchett here
in the US the same time as the UK! Unfortunately, we still got the US
covers, but getting them at the same time is progress. When ordering
online, if you want the UK editions, order from a UK dealer. Try here
to buy Terry Pratchett's books online.
For the most up to date info on Terry's books, the definitive source
is the official website at TerryPratchettBooks.com.

Soul Music (Universal, PG, 3 hours 6 mins)
There’s a weird music taking over the land – it’s fast, it’s furious and they call it The Music with Rocks in. And what’s more, it’s alive… Even more sinister, Death has disappeared, but who could possibly be qualified or willing to step into his black cape and wield the scythe?
“Extremely faithful to the novel…” DVD Review
Wyrd Sisters (Universal PG, 2 hours 20 mins)
The King has been murdered by an evil Duke partial to porridge, and a baby is missing from the castle. It’s up to three unsual witches - Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick – to take magical and regal matters into their own hands…
“Pratchett fans should love this…” DVD Times
Going Postal Paperback (Transworld)
Moist von Lipwig a fraudster and conman has to choose between being hanged, or put Ankh-Morpork's ailing postal service back on its feet. Not an easy choice to make…
But he's got to see that the mail gets through, come rain, hail, sleet, dogs, the Post Office Workers Friendly and Benevolent Society, the evil chairman of the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company, and a midnight killer.
Getting a date with Adora Bell Dearheart would be nice, too.
Maybe it'll take a criminal to succeed where honest men have failed, or maybe it's a death sentence either way.
Or perhaps there's a shot at redemption in the mad world of the mail, waiting for a man who's prepared to push the envelope…
Terry Pratchett is one of the best-selling writers of all time. He has sold over 40 million books worldwide. Before JK Rowling, he was the highest earning British author ever (The Times, 1996) and he is the only author to hold No 1 on paperback and hardback charts simultaneously. Awards include OBE 1998, 2000 Bookseller Award, twice Author of the Year and SFX Hall of Fame!

Arnold Bros is closing, and the store is to be demolished. Unknown to the powers that be, a race of 4 inch tall Nomes lives under the floorboards in the store, and has for generations. They assumed Arnold Brothers built The Store for them, and the signs have always told them when it was time for Christmas Faire and Spring Fling, but now the signs say odd things like "Store Closing" and "Everything Must Go!"
What's a 4" tall Nome to do? Where will they go, and how will they get there? Join these courageous (and funny!) little people as they learn to drive (when you are 4" tall driving is an adventure all by itself, and that doesn't even consider the fact you have to have something to drive!) and escape into the Outside to find a new home... a world most of them thought was a Fairy Tale! This is a fast, funny, book that leaves you smiling, and thinking....what if?

Just when you thought it was safe...the Quarry the Nomes esaped to and set up housekeeping in is suddenly being visited again by Humans. And according to the signs---for Nomes base their lives on what the signs in their enviroment say---the Humans are not just visiting, but coming back for good. Once more they must find a new and safe place to live and a way to get there. How many Nomes does it take to drive an earth mover? More than one you can bet, with lots of laughs along the way.

Masklin always new there was more. The Thing has kept him informed and told him what to do. And now The Thing is telling him he has to get the help of a Human (Grandson Richard), get to a place called Florida, and launch a communications satellite (as much of a mystery as the place called Florida) to call the mother ship to save the race of Nomes who have been so long living on earth, and take them home. Can he do it? The third of the trilogy, the Nomes are finally heading for home. Or are they?

Bromeliad Trilogy
Publisher: HarperCollins
Edition: Hardcover; Omnibus
ISBN: 0060094931
When you are four inches tall the world is a scary place....these three novels take the Nomes from not even believing there is a world other than The Store to heading for outer space, and the planet of their ancestry. They are brave, funny, scared....and you won't want to put this book down until you have read all three adventures. How does out world look to someone that's 4" tall? Pretty funny!
Together in one volume, The Bromeliad Trilogy includes all three popular novels about the Gnomes: Truckers, Diggers, and Wings. These books aren't Discworld novels but are a great read!

Monstrous Regiment
Edition: Hardcover
Publisher: HarperCollins; 1st edition (October 2003)
ISBN: 006001315X
War has come to Discworld. The homes and businesses throughout the duchy of Borogravia limp along, doing the best they can without their men, sent to fight their age-old enemy. Polly has taken over the lion's share of reponsibility for the running of her family's humble inn, The Duchess. Her beloved brother Paul marched off to war almost a year ago, but it has been more than two months since his last letter home, and the news from the front is bad: the fighting has reached the border, supplies are dwindling, and the brave Borogravians are losing precious ground. So the resourceful Polly cuts her hair and joins the army as a young man named Oliver. As Polly closely guards her secret, she notices that her fellow recruits seem to be guarding secrets of their own. A novel that explores the inanity of war, the ins and outs of sexual politcs, and why often the best man for the job is a woman, Monstrous Regiment is Pratchett in top form. Audible
Audiobooks Not actually an online store, it is a subscription service,
where you purchase a plan and can download as many books as that plan
allows. The books are in Audible's proprietary format, and use a compatible
player to listen. But there are several players to choose from, (Rio
500 and Philips RUSH to name two of them) and a huge selection of audiobooks.
Be aware that in format 1, the most compressed, the audio quality isn't
very good, but I found format 4 quite good for my purposes, although
the files are much larger. For example, Terry Pratchett's "Soul Music" is
23 MB in format 1, and a hefty 137 MB in format 4. The downloads are
resumable, but at that size, it does make it very difficult for 56K
users to get their books!
