Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat homes. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Habitat for Humanity that is used to build more homes.

The Habitat for Humanity International web site contains more information on Habitat's history, mission, additional volunteer opportunities and contact information for other Habitat affiliates around the world.

Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota built 8 homes in 2006 as well as starting construction on the Habitat ReStore.  Habitat is building 5 homes in 2007.  The ReStore is now up and operating.  To get involved with a Habitat project you can call the office 507-388-2081 and ask for Natasha, fill out our volunteer form, or email Natasha.
